What have we been up to this week?

This week in English we have been switching our attention to narrative writing! We wrote our own story in our 'cold write' and have been working on how to use direct speech and inverted commas correctly. 

In Maths this week we have been focusing on finding and comparing area. We have enjoyed creating our own shapes with different amount of areas. 

We have learnt all about Boudicca in history and how she and her army fought against the Romans in Britain! We loved creating our own fact files all about Boudicca and her fierce tale. 

In Science we have started to look at the topic of electricity and answering the question 'would we cope without electricity?'. This week we discovered lots of different items powered by battery and electricity. 

Our Christmas Play!

We have now allocated all the roles for our Christmas play 'Bethlehem Bandits'! We are all so excited and have already begun rehearsals! Year 4 have brought their scripts home this week. Please help them to go through their lines at home as we will be in school. 

Star of the week:

This week our star is ... Maya! Maya showed a very mature and understanding attitude when we were giving out roles for the play this week. Well done Maya, you are a star!

-Next week is our 'Anti Bullying week'. Monday = Odd Sock Day  Friday = Children in Need (Wearing PJs/Onesies)

-Please bring in reading records each day and read 5x per week at home. 

- Home learning is sent out each Friday in home learning folders.
