Summer Term 2 Week 2

Forest school!

This week the children have worked really hard. I am very proud of each one of them for working so well.

The children had a lovely end to their week as we had our first forest school session! We had lots of fun exploring our outside area, building bug houses, climbing trees as well as toasting marshmallows! Thank you to Mr Summers for leading this for us.

In maths, we have started our statistics unit. Our first lesson was about understanding tally charts. The children now understand how to read a tally chart, as well as make their own! In our lesson, we went to the front of school and watched the cars drive past. During this, we created a tally chart for the different colour cars we saw and found out which colour we saw the most by counting our tally's!

In science, we were stranded on a desert island! This meant we had to think about all the essential things we would need to survive! The children came up with a list collaboratively which included water, food, a blanket and suncream. We then wrote a letter in a bottle to be found, so someone would hopefully help us!

Thank you for another great week, Kestrels!

Reminders:

Monday: Sports day (unless told otherwise)

Friday: Colour run! Children should wear a white top if they want to have coloured powder on them. If not, wear a bright-coloured top!

Please continue to read and practise spelling.

Have a lovely weekend, hopefully the weather holds up!

Miss Hamilton :)
