Summer 2 Week 3

This week the Owls have been so super sporty! We kicked off the week with Sports Day, where the children competed in their houses. I am so proud of all the children for giving their best efforts on Sports Day and trying so hard in their races. Thank you also to all the parents and carers who attended and joined us for our picnic lunch - it was wonderful to have so many of you there!

On Friday, we took part in the Colour Run! The children ran the whole school field (twice!) whilst moving over, under and around different obstacles and being covered head to toe in powder paint. It was such good fun and the children did very well.

In our learning this week, we took our science outside and made bubbles using different objects! We read the story of the three little pigs and used our knowledge of different materials and their properties to design and build new, stronger houses for the pigs. We also wrote lists about what materials we would use and why, extending our writing by using the conjunction 'because'. We continued to improve our recognition of teen numbers and practised our number formation.

Well done to our Star of the Week this week, Bill! Bill really impressed us this week with his hard work during phonics and how he followed our school promises. Well done Bill!

Next week is Art Week! The children will be doing lots of different art activities,  taking part in workshops and getting ready to host our first Gallery Night on the 10th July.
