Summer 2 Week 4

This week has been our very first Art Week! The children took part in a whole range of exciting and creative activities this week, including the opportunity to take part in a workshop with our very own visiting art teacher! A massive thank you to Mrs Ware for her hard work and time this week delivering our art workshops. The children had such a brilliant time.

As well as their art workshop, Owls this week have created rainbows out of collage, finger painting and cotton painting, made chalk paint to decorate the playground, created bubble paintings using paint in bubble mixture, worked with clay to create name tokens, recapped our 2D shapes through shape stamping and pattern making, created abstract art using marble painting, used watercolours and oil pastels to create a still life of some sunflowers and created their 'final piece' for our gallery night! They have been incredibly busy!

In our writing this week, the Owls took a look back on all the fun things we did throughout their first year at school. We spoke about our favourite memories and things we had enjoyed before drawing pictures of these moments and writing a sentence to accompany them. I am so incredibly proud of the Owls and their writing progression this year. Just have a look at some of the wonderful sentences we had!

Well done to our Star of the week... Evie! Evie has had a wonderful week. She threw herself into all the activities with confidence and enthusiasm, and we are very proud of her. Well done Evie!

A few reminders:

- Next Friday (5th July)  it is the Owls Class Assembly! The children are so excited to show you a snippet of some of their recent learning, and so we would love to see as many of you there as possible! They will have brought home a letter this week detailing the time of the assembly and the lines that they will be giving. Please could you practise these lines with your child as much as possible over the coming week, as whilst we will be practising in school, practising at home also will will also help to help boost their confidence!

- Please remember that Friday is book swap day. We must have reading books and reading records returned each Friday so that we can change the books for the next week. If books are not returned, we cannot give out new books.

Many thanks and have a wonderful weekend!
