Autumn 1 week 1

Autumn 1 week 1

What a wonderful first week! We are so proud of all the owls for completing their first week in school. The children played together beautifully, explored the school and loved being 'Busy Bees' during their child initiated play. It has been such a pleasure to get to know the children as individuals. Owls have been fantastic at expressing how they feel about starting school. They could link their emotions to our book The Colour Monster.

To encourage your child to become more independent and settle quickly, we ask parents to say goodbye at the classroom door in the morning. This will help your child transition smoothly into our school day.

On Friday 13th September, the children will bring home a 'bedtime book'. This book will be chosen by your child, and we would love you to read it to them. We will begin teaching phonics using our Sounds Write programme from Monday 16th September. Your child will bring home a fully decodable book on Friday 4th October.

A big thank you to the parents and children for such a positive first week. We cannot wait to see you all next week!

Have a lovely weekend
