Autumn 1, week 4

Another fantastic week in owls!

This week in school we celebrated European Langugages Day. Owls were given the country Italy. The children loved learning how to say hello, creating Italian flags and making our own pizzas. We were very lucky to have lots of visitors that day and learnt how to greet each other in German and Spanish.

In our writing this week we were inspired by the book Leaf Man. Owls collected leaves on our welly walk and then created their own leaf person or animal collage. The children then used sound mats to locate the initial and final sounds for their leaf creation.

In maths, Owls found different ways of represetnting 4 and 5. The owls have loved practising their number formation and using the number rhymes to help them remember. Owls used a variety of objects to investigate the composition of 5.

Well done to our Star of the week, Rowan. Rowan has been an incredibly kind friend and followed the school promises.

Reminders for next week:

  • If you have not yet returned your Tapestry consent form or speech and language consent form, please return these ASAP.
  • Please can you send your child to school with a water bottle.
  • Parents' evening appointments are now available to book via school cloud.

Have a lovely weekend
