Autumn 1 Week 5
This week has been a busy one!
This week we have been planning and writing our final piece of instructions! We made our very own apple cakes using the apples from our school apple trees. After that, we used it as inspiration to write our instructions! We produced some wonderful writing and some amazing apple cake!
On Thursday we had some PCSO officers come and help us with some Online Safety workshops. We learnt a lot about how to stay safe online, what the risks are and how to prevent dangers online.
This week we also have been looking at our computer programming and coding. We used scratch to produce our very own cartoon race. On Friday we challenged ourselves by using the Microbits and creating our own computer programme! We created a dice programme which you could shake to produce a random number and then experimented to see what else we could programme!
In our reading sessions we have really been focusing on using VIPERS to answer comprehension questions as well as looking at our 'ambitious vocabulary'. Words such as 'self-igniting', 'dominating' and 'rickshaw driver' inspired our vocabulary and deepened our understanding!
Star of the week:
This week our star is ... Lydia! Lydia is always ready for her learning and is a kind and supportive friend to others. She consistently shows school values and always follows the school promises. Well done Lydia!
