Autumn 1 Week 7

This week we finished our poetry unit and created some wonderful Firework poetry, inspired by our class book 'The Firework-Maker's Daughter'. We created artwork to go with our poems and have created a display in our main school corridor outside our classroom!

We also performed our poetry for the Year 5 class as we were extremely proud of our paired writing! The Year 5's loved it and were extremely supportive!

In maths, we have continued to consolidate our methods of addition and subtraction using column. We have been applying that to more abstract reasoning and worded problems! We have also been working hard on our timetables and have seen such progress within our Tables Races scores!

In PE, we have been finalising and practising our dance festival performance, ready to show to the school on Monday morning! Sadly, we don't have enough room in the hall for parents to visit this event, but I shall share pictures on our weekly blog next week :).

In music, we enjoyed getting the instruments out to create a performance based on an animation clip. We saw so many different interpretations of the same clip and enjoyed each and every performance! The groups worked so hard together to create a piece of music and perform it for the class.
