Summer 1 Week 6

This week in Hawks we were lucky enough to experience an Explorer Dome science show assembly! Year 3 and 4s show was all about states of matter, which helped us with our current year 4 science learning. We got to see lots of cool experiments and ask lots of tricky questions!

We been continuing our learning on decimals and came to order and compare them this week. We talked about important memories in PSHE and completed our science experiment on changing states of matter (we even enjoyed a melted chocolate biscuit at the end!).

On Thursday we also enjoyed our 'Bounce' time! A giant bungee trampoline came into school and we raised money by bouncing and earning sponsorships! We had a great time!

In PSHE we have also been re-focusing on our anti-bullying knowledge. Speaking all about our trusted adults, in and out of school, and our Be Brave, Be Kind, Value everyone anti-bullying motto). We spoke all about the definition of bullying and how important it is to speak about bullying to also help the person who is doing the bullying. We discussed how the bully is usually sad and deserves to be helped and supported too. Hawks were very mature and sensitive around such a delicate topic and understood very clearly how everyone deserves help and support when we are finding things hard.

This week our star of the week is ... Walter! Walter has had a wonderful term and has shown great effort in his learning! Well done Walter, keep it up!
