World Book Week at By Brook Valley!

This week we had a very busy week with World Book Week! We loved having our teacher class swap reading sessions and were delighted to have Mrs Nicholas on Monday and Mrs Whiston on Thursday to come and read us a story! We also enjoyed dressing up on Thursday and sharing what we had to come to school as. We shared books with Year 3 in a reading swap and even did our very own By Brook Valley World Book Day quiz! We had a wonderful drama workshop on Friday afternoon that was based around 'George's Marvellous Medicine'. We had such a good time acting and playing games! We were surprised to find out that our 'surprise reader' was ... Evie's Mum! Thank you for coming to read to us this morning. We loved it!

In maths this week we have moved on to fractions! We have started to learn about the whole number and how it is represented in different ways using fractions. As usual, we also enjoyed our swimming, yoga and some extra brain breaks outside. 

Star of the week:

This week we didn't have a star of the week, due to our drama workshops in the hall! 

Things to remember:

-Next Friday is our Y4 class assembly. Please come along to hear all about our learning in Year 4!

- PE days are Tuesday and Friday. We also have a PE slot we will be using some Mondays, so children may come into school in PE kit on Mondays too. 

- Reading records each day please (lots are missing when reading with adults). 

- Please don't forget that home learning comes home in bags each Friday. 

- Please read 5x weekly.
