Spring 2 Week 2
World Book Week!
We have had a fantastic world book week with lots of lovely activities all about reading.
We started the week with a World Book Week assembly which gave the children an idea of what was happening this week. They also got to see how many books Miss Davis was able to purchase following our book fair which was fantastic! Thank you to all the parents who supported this,
We had teacher reading swaps on two days when Ospreys had Mrs Whiston (Year 6) and Miss Davis (Year 5) read to them, which they loved.
We had a quiz to complete in class. We had to guess which books were the teachers' favourites, guess the names of books and decipher anagrams of the names of books. The children loved this and had a good attempt.
During the week we read George's Marvellous Medicine as we had a drama company hold drama workshops with KS2 classes about this story on Friday. The children absolutely loved the book, and we had a fantastic time doing drama in the workshop.
We also had a surprise reader come in on Wednesday. It was Mrs Franey who read from The Lion, The Witch and The wardrobe. The children really enjoyed this!
The best day was World Book Day when everyone came to school dressed as a book character. It was fantastic to see the range of different characters, and we all enjoyed sharing our books with each other. We also spent time with year 4 sharing and reading books together.
Thank you for all your support in making this a great day.
Miss Boddy :)
