Summer Term 1 Week 5

Class Assembly!

Thank you all so much for coming to see Kestrels show off their fantastic learning! They have been practising hard all week, and they all did brilliantly!

This week, we have started some new learning.

In English, we are continuing our narrative writing based on the book Tuesday. The children have written a recount of the events that take place in this book and have planned their own narratives which is to answer the question 'What happens next Tuesday?'. This book is interesting as it has very few words in it, so the children enjoy using their imagination!

We have started our fractions unit in maths! The children have been identifying and drawing quarters and halves.

We have enjoyed the sunshine this week and taken it as an opportunity to read our favourite books outside! The children loved this, and we hope the sunshine is here to stay!

Quick reminder that children should bring their reading books and reading records every day. Homework folders are collected on a Thursday to ensure they have their homework in their folders for the following week.

Please can children bring in sun hats and cream now to protect them at break and lunch!

Thank you again for coming to our class assembly. It was lovely to see so many of you.

Have a lovely weekend.

Miss Hamilton :)
