Term 3, Week 4! 31.01.25

Another wonderful jammed pack week of learning!
We started looking at 2D and 3D shapes this week in maths. We have explored how many sides and vertices 2D shapes have. We also drew 2D shapes in different ways.
In English, we are nearing the end of our narrative unit using ‘Queen Victoria’s Bathing Machine’ as inspiration. We thought about how we could innovate the story, and we created lots of different ideas. Maybe she wanted a cooking machine, a sunbathing machine, or a spa machine! We have then used our new ideas to write our own version of the story, making sure we use our learning of expanded noun phrases, co-ordinating conjunctions and contractions in our writing.
Computing has been another exciting coding lesson with the Beebots. We had to create our own artwork on the mats for the Beebots to travel on and then add obstacles in the way! We really had to think about how we could make our algorithms simple and precise for the Beebots to move around our mats.
In RE, our learning question was ‘How do Muslims Pray?’ We explored the different steps they do while praying and discovered that they have to remember quite a lot! We also looked at some beautiful prayer mats that are used when praying.
Our star of the Week was Rufus! Rufus has tried really hard to show our school promises this week. Keep it up!
