Term 4, Week 4! 21.03.25

A very busy but exciting week!

In maths, we finished our unit on fractions. We learnt that 1/2 is equivalent to 2/4 and explored what equivalent means. We also found 3/4 of amounts and counted up in fractions to a whole. Next week, we are starting our unit on statistics.

We looked at the parable The Lost Son in RE this week. We retold the story and drew it on the outside of our cubes. We then discussed what the hidden message of the parable is, as Jesus told these parables to teach Christians something. We thought the hidden message was 'God will always show love and forgiveness' so we wrote that in the inside of our cubes.

We enjoyed our first Enterprise programme delivered by Jayne from 2B Enterprising - Bumbles of Honeywood and George from Castle Combe Circuit. The children learnt about different skills needed in jobs and about networking. They created their own networking cards and then 'networked' with each other, making sure they had a smile on their faces and clear voices when talking. We are excited for our next session in June and the skills we will learn!

At Forest School this week, we worked in house teams to create a den. We had to make sure that it was secure and that we could get inside. At times it was challenging working as a team, but we persevered together and were all successful.

Today was Red Nose Day and Maths Day!
Kestrels looked great wearing something red to raise money for Red Nose day.

We loved doing different maths activities throughout the day. We worked with the children in Owls to go on a number scavenger hunt. Then we created repeated patterns with nature and played different games that included counting like duck duck goose.
