Autumn 2 Week 7
Owls have had such a festive week this week! The biggest thing the children did this week was not one, not two, but THREE performances of our Nativity... The Bossy King! The children were absolutely incredible, singing and dancing their socks off! I was so proud of each and every owl for their wonderful performances, bravery and stamina! Well done Owls.
We did manage to fit lots in this week despite all the performing. In maths, we continued our learning of 2D shapes, using verbal descriptions only to identify shapes based on the number of sides and corners. We looked at squares, triangles, rectangles, ovals, diamonds, and circles, and some even learnt about pentagons and hexagons!
On Thursday we enjoyed our Christmas Dinner Day. We spent the morning making party hats and taking part in a Christmas quiz, before enjoying our festive food and pulling some crackers! The children worked so well in their teams during the quiz, and everyone looked fabulous in their hats.
We enjoyed a fun PE session on Friday, getting to play on the climbing equipment! We used our muscles and core body strength to help us climb, balance and manoeuvre around the equipment and had to make judgements about what was safe and what was not.
We had our penultimate celebration assembly which featured our final star of the week, and ours this week is Daisy! Daisy worked so incredibly hard to learn the words and actions for the nativity, made sure to take care of the other children sitting near her and gave each performance her best. Well done Daisy!
Next week is our final three days of school, with an early finish of 2pm on Wednesday 20th. After-school clubs and buses will not be running on that Wednesday, so please make sure you have organised a way to collect your little ones!
Have a wonderful weekend :)
