Spring 2, week 4
What a busy week!
This week we travelled to Antarctica! We found out lots of facts about the continent and used adjectives to describe what the weather is like there. Owls loved learning about the animals that live in Antartica. Our favourite animal was the penguin!
In maths, we have been exploring doubles of up to 10. We used numicon to represent doubles. Owls carefully painted numicon pieces 1 to 5 and printed them.
Today was maths day and Red Nose Day! We found out that Red Nose day is all about raising money for charity. Owls created their own imaginative red noses! We were very lucky to work with the children in Kestrels to go on a number scavenger hunt. All the children worked brilliantly together, and it was a joy to see them supporting each other. They then created their own maths games and made natural repeating patterns.
Have a lovely weekend
