What an exciting week of learning and special visitors!

We were very lucky to have a talk from two police officers about keeping ourselves safe and their jobs. Falcons loved trying on police hats and coats. We even got to listen to the different police sirens and found out what they mean.

In English this week we have been finding out about posters. We created a poster as a class and identified all the features of a poster. Falcons planned their own weather posters and thought very carefully about the layout. 

Falcons impressed me with their doubling skills in maths! They doubled numbers up to 10 using numicon and counters. The children learnt about near doubles and how this can help them calculate quickly. 

In Geography, we looked at the four countries in the United Kingdom. Falcons were fantastic at labelling the countries on a map and even learnt a song to help them remember.
