Autumn Term 2 Week 3
Falcons had a lovely start to their week with a special performance by Music for Miniatures! Children got to hear lots of different ways that music can be played. For example, different speeds and to show different emotions. They had to decide whether they preferred brass instruments or woodwind instruments. KS1 decided woodwind is the best!
In science, falcons tested to see whether different materials were waterproof or not! They worked together in groups to do this accurately.
In Geography, we reminded ourselves of the countries that make up the UK. To consolidate our learning, the children got to try different foods from those countries. Such as potato bread, crumpets, apple pie, shortbread and tea cakes. They then wrote about which food they enjoyed the most from each country.
In maths, we are still learning how to add two numbers together. Children used ten frames to help them with this and we even managed to add numbers up to 20!
Next week we are starting our new writing topic all about London!
Please make sure children are reading at least 5 times a week!
