Autumn 1 Week 4
I can't believe we have finished week 4 already! Ospreys are settled into school routines, keeping to our school promises and working as a team in class to support each other.
In English, we have been learning how to write about our thoughts and feelings as part of our diary writing and using our class book Escape from Pompeii as inspiration.
In Maths, we have been learning how to count 1, 10 and 100 more or less than a 3 digit number. We have also been looking at number lines to 1000 and learning how to calculate if the number line is counting in 1, 10, 20, 50 or 100. They have all been trying hard with their table races, and I am impressed at how determined they are to do better each week.
In History, we have continued to learn about the Romans and this week we have considered what it was like to be a Roman soldier in Britain.
Mrs Beck from Road Safety came back this week and the children went in groups for a walk with Mrs Beck and Mrs Dodd to learn how to be safe when walking next to a road and when crossing a road.
We have also been busy preparing work and practising our singing for our Harvest service next Thursday. We are looking forward to sharing this with you next week.
Star of the week
Our star of the week is Lydia. Lydia always works hard and is continually demonstrating our school promises. Well done Lydia!
Please can children continue to read 5x each week. If they read 5x they get a house point and go into our raffle to possibly win a prize at the end of term.
Can I also remind you that children need a coat at school as the weather is turning colder.
Many thanks for your continued support.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Miss Boddy
